Myofunctional therapy for sleep apnea and UARS in Colorado Springs
In obstructive sleep apnea and upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS), the airway narrows or collapses during sleep. Myofunctional therapy strengthens the tongue and throat muscles and trains nasal breathing. It is used alongside care from a physician or sleep specialist, not in place of it.

Can myofunctional therapy replace CPAP?
No. Keep following your physician's treatment plan. Myo can be part of that plan.
Do I need a sleep study first?
It isn't required to start therapy. If sleep apnea is a concern, we strongly recommend a sleep study through your physician, since that is how sleep apnea is diagnosed.
Can children with sleep-disordered breathing be treated?
Yes. Depending on severity, therapy may be combined with other treatments.
